This decade dentistry has undoubtedbly made great progress compared to how it used to be only 10 years ago. Modern 3D imaging technique, sophisticated restorative materials, dental implants, new regenerative biomaterials and innovative dental microscopes provide us with the tools to offer a high quality and long lasting treatment to our patients.
This is the most innovative digital technology that has revolutionized world aesthetic dentistry. It allows us to virtually design the ideal smile for every patient individually, and to visualize the final result before starting the treatment.
There are very few dental centers equipped with a first level 3D digital diagnostic system such as Orthophos Sirona XG system . For us it represents a very useful diagnostic tool that has reinvented the way to evaluate and understand the pathology that affects teeth and jaws.
Its main uses are in endodontics, as it helps to locate the number of roots of each tooth and its curvature, in oral surgery, since it provides excellent anatomic details, and finally in implantology, since it allows us to virtually navigate through the jawbone inside so that we can precisely determine which is the implant that best adapts to the shape and volume of the bone and its ideal position. All this information is kept on the guided surgery templates that assist us at the time of implant placement.
For you this innovative 3D digital radiography system represents a significant saving in ionizing radiation, since compared to a hospital CAT scan it emits 10 times less radiation.
Diagnostic radiology in dentistry is an essential tool for detecting tooth decay and other diseases linked to infectious processes affecting the jawbone. At the present time digital radiovisiography offers excellent image quality, which allows us to obtain highly reliable diagnoses. It offers many advantages both for you, providing a dose reduction up to 80 %, compared with conventional radiology, and for the environment, because we avoid using highly polluting chemical products.
Nowadays BTI is universally considered as a scientific reference in regenerative medicine thanks to the use of PRGF® in different medical branches such as dentistry, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, sports medicine, vascular surgery or cosmetic surgery.
PRGF® is a very advanced biomedical technology which is based on the ability of human platelets to improve and accelerate wound healing. In this way we enhance the natural ability of the patient's own healing starting from a small blood sample, which we spin and subsequently activate in order to obtain a plasma rich in growth factors, PRGF®.
Since it is extracted from the patient's own biological material, PRGF® in no case can cause allergies or foreign body reactions, being 100% biocompatible.
PRGF® main uses in Dentistry are:
- In oral surgery, as it helps us prevent bone loss, for example after a dental extraction or in a jawbone cyst removal, where if nothing is placed after surgery, very important bone defects can occur, wich will subsequently need to be restored. Through the PRGF these cavities are filled so that the bone regeneration is stimulated and the bone gets a better basis for subsequent implant placement.
- In implant surgery, because it allows us to get a better post-op, faster wound closure/healing and a bioactive bone surface around the BTI implants.
Present and future Dentistry are aimed at more conservative and minimally invasive treatments. In order to make this philosophy of treatment reality it is necessary to have a high quality magnified display system like the Zeiss OPMI dental microscope .
This equipment is very useful in both diagnosis and treatment in many branches of dentistry such as restorative dentistry (detection of hidden tooth decay, cracks in teeth..), endodontics (location of calcified canals, removal of instruments from inside the ducts , retreats), dental aesthetics (polishing material), among others.
Giving us the possibility to observe small details of the dental anatomy, this system is very useful because we can be much more precise and careful while exercising our profession.
One of the major developments experienced by dentistry has been the use of CAD- CAM technology. It involves assisted computer design and manufacturing of fixed prostheses on natural teeth or on implants.
With this digital technology we can scan models of the patient's mouth and, using a powerful specific software, design our restorations which are subsequently realized from high quality ceramic blocks through a setting which is far superior to conventional techniques. In this way we obtain ceramic restorations with excellent aesthetics, which are fully biocompatible and highly resistant .
Nowadays digital photography is an essential tool in many fields of dentistry, such as orthodontics or aesthetic dentistry. It represents a great resource, since it allows us to assess with great detail very important information such as the teeth texture, shape, color, position or the smile line .
This is a clear example of how well applied digital technology represents the basis for our treatments and improves communication with patients and with our laboratory technicians.
It is a small video camera with which we can examine your teeth getting a real-time image of them on the computer screen. This way you will be able to see the same thing as us and we will help you understand and learn more about your oral health status.
This type of scan is completely painless, emits no radiation and is very useful to plan together with the patient the treatment to be performed.
Perisocan is the most sensitive and sophisticated bacteria plaque cleaning system through ultrasound on the market. It allows us to carry out dental cleans and checks and periodontics treatments safely and efficiently, since it has an automatic tartar detection system and we only apply ultrasound where necessary.
The main advantage is that it has a double irrigator fluid reservoir where we can put mouthwash (so we can wash with anti-inflammatory liquids while we clean) or warm water which is especially recommended for those with teeth sensitive to cold water
The electronic apex locator helps us to determine the exact position of the end of the duct roots during root canal treatments. This allows us to clean and disinfect the entire length of the teeth ducts with complete accuracy, saving X-ray, reducing the working time and avoiding unnecessary radiation to the patient
Elements is the most advanced system among root canal filling treatments in endodontics. After cleaning the root canal system, we must seal it in order to prevent a future recontamination, as this would cause a new infection.
The ideal system for sealing ducts is the one that allows a stable, reversible and biocompatible three-dimensional sealing. All these requirements are met by Elements, which is today the most efficient, accurate and secure system.
For us your safety comes first. Hence one of the key pillars in our clinic’s standard of care is our advanced sterilization system. We have a sterilization room equipped with a latest generation series B autoclave (compliant with the European standard EN 13060), which guarantees a sterilization process at hospital level.
All consumables are single-use, and the tools used are subjected to rigorous disinfection, sterilization and storage, following the official Collegi d'Odontòlegs i Estomatòlegs de Catalunya and the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya protocols.
In order to check the correct functioning of the entire sterilization chain, our staff regularly carries out crop of spores test. This is the most demanding system in terms of monitoring the effectiveness of disinfection processes and sterilization of instruments and we guarantee the effectiveness and safety of the whole system.
VITA Easyshade is a spectrophotometer that allows us to quickly and easily determine the color of natural teeth with precision. In this way inaccuracies due to human subjectivity when determining teeth color for ceramic restorations or composite aesthetic reconstructions, are removed.
It is very useful when making teeth bleaching since we can monitor the progression of treatment at all times.
What is PRIMESCAN?
PRIMESCAN is an intraoral scanner developed by Dentsply Sirona which allows us to capture 3D digital images of the shape and position of a patient’s teeth.
The system includes a small video camera that captures 50,000 images per second and automatically merges them together on a computer screen to build a precise digital reproduction of the patient’s teeth, comfortably and in just a few minutes.
Using this technology means that we no longer have to use traditional dental impression trays filled with paste, which some people can find uncomfortable.
